Edmonds Community College
Central Heating and Cooling Plant
We designed the replacement of the existing boilers with
high efficiency condensing boilers. The heating system
pumps were changed to variable speed operation. new
heating water system controls were added to operate boilers
and pumps for better efficiency. The cooling water
loop was modified to solve
water overflow issues, and to
operate more efficiently. The project was completed in
phases to keep the plant in operation during construction.
This design
has greatly reduced the energy consumption for
the college.

Rainier Vista
Mechanical Design
We provided design of the plumbing and hydronic heating
systems for this multi-family housing project. This
project used a unique combination gas boiler / hot
water heater in each unit. Careful coordination with
the housing authority and general contractor resulted in a
high quality installation. |
Montana State Health Lab
Mechanical Upgrades
We provided full mechanical, plumbing and electrical
design services for this complicated remodel of the
chemistry lab, bio lab and environmental lab. Work was
completed over a three year period so that the laboratory
could remain in operation during the process. The
project included many energy efficient features
including heat recovery, variable air volume chemistry
hoods, and day lighting controls. At the completion of
the project, we commissioned all mechanical
and electrical systems to ensure correct operation.

Energy Conservation Project
This energy saving project provided new digital HVAC
controls, a domestic water solar collector to work in
coordination with the existing hot water tank,
lighting upgrades, and the removal and replacement of the
existing hot water boilers with new condensing boilers.
We also analyzed options for propane
backup systems, and replacing the maintenance bay heating
system.
